Purpose: Enhance the Human Experience
James 2:17 17Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
Serve-One.org Food Ministry is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing food to vulnerable populations throughout the country and around the world. The organization works to provide food to those in need, helping them to stay nourished and healthy. Serve-One is mainly focused on helping impoverished families, widows, veterans, seniors, and other communities who may be struggling to make ends meet and purchase food for themselves, their families, and their dependents.
Serve-One provides access to food in the form of donations from local and national grocers, food pantries, nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and other sources. Donations of cash, grocery items, and other items are accepted and used to purchase food that can then be distributed to those in need at designated food banks or onto site feeding locations. Through these donations, Serve-One is able to help provide nourishment to individuals and families who are food-insecure.
Serve-One also focuses on education and advocacy for hunger relief. The organization works to raise awareness about hunger and help to influence policies that support food security and nutrition in our communities. Serve-One works to partner with organizations, business, and governments to create resources and programs aimed at addressing hunger relief.
Additionally, Serve-One works to mobilize volunteers who are able to assist in various ways. Volunteers are used to help to package food donations and distribute them to those in need. Volunteers will also participate in other activities such as delivering meals, visiting sites to ensure that food is being properly distributed and utilized, and helping to create programs aimed at reducing hunger and providing food access.
Overall, Serve-One is a passionate organization that is dedicated to helping those in need by providing access to food and resources. Serve-One works to ensure that all individuals and families have access to the nourishment that is necessary for a healthy lifestyle. Through donations, education and advocacy, and volunteer mobilization, Serve-One works to make sure that everyone has enough to eat.
Foundational Statement
It is the foundational philosophy of Serve-One Inc., its Founders, Officers, Volunteers and Partners, to acknowledge and encourage the clear and immutable truth, that all “Human Beings” possess an intrinsic spirit of equal human value, regardless of race, faith, ability or gender.
Goal
The goal of Serve-One, Inc., is first to provide food and other basic needs to those who cannot come to facility-based services due to physical, social, or economic reasons. These include the young/elderly, shut-ins, the medically disabled (many Vets), transitory or severely impoverished. These much-ignored groups generally have impaired mobility or are otherwise handicapped by insufficient transportation and/or unable to avail themselves of the many services offered at fixed locations throughout the city and state.
Faith Based VS Faith Run
Faith Based: Is defined as; affiliated with, supported by, or based on a religion or religious group.
Faith Run or Administered: is defined as; A management approach that includes Christian principles but excludes no one from participating.
When filing for our tax exempt status, Serve-One chose NOT to apply for a Faith Based classification in order not to limit its services or influences to any outside political or religious entity. Just as the community we serve….our management team is diverse and non-denominational and our volunteers are the same.
Method
Provide mobile food services supporting the needs of the community.
In May 2013 Serve-One, incorporated in the State of California, filed for a declaration of Public Charity with the IRS (EIN# 46-2264700) and purchased a mobile 20’ car hauler with extensive height and load modifications. This trailer serves to transport food for distribution (pantry) or our complete propane fired mobile kitchen, which is set-up on location to prepare and distribute complete, hot, and wholesome meals to areas where the needs are not mobile, such as; mobile shelters, riverbeds and other homeless encampments as well as wilderness inhabitants, dayroom motels, seniors and section 8 housing. It also doubles as an emergency response kitchen, in case of local or national disasters. When fully staffed, the pantry/kitchen is capable of providing the community with hundreds of prepared and/or pantry meals a day.
SERVE-ONE IS FAITH RUN
Serve-One, Inc. (S-1) is completely Volunteer run. All services are done by volunteers. There are no paid staff or employees and 100% of any donation goes towards our mission. Additionally we are a 100% cash organization and pay all applicable State and Local taxes at the time and place products and/or services are rendered.
